Skills and Knowledge Required

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in Accounting
  • CPA certification or 150 hours completed/to be completed for CPA certification required.
  • Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Very good verbal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Be willing and able to travel ~60-70 nights per year to clients across the east coast. 

Position Overview: As a Staff Auditor, you will be an integral part of our audit team, contributing to the accurate and thorough examination of financial statements and records. Your role will involve conducting audit procedures, analyzing data, and assisting in the preparation of audit reports. Responsibilities:

  • Be willing and able to travel ~60-70 nights per year to clients across the east coast.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of audit engagements for clients across various industries, adhering to audit methodologies and procedures.
  • Assist in the examination of financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and related documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Perform substantive and analytical audit procedures to verify the accuracy and validity of financial information.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial data, documents, and information required for audit engagements.
  • Evaluate internal controls and assess their effectiveness in mitigating risks and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify discrepancies, anomalies, and potential issues during audit procedures and communicate findings to senior team members.
  • Maintain organized and comprehensive audit workpapers, ensuring documentation supports audit findings and conclusions.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with clients to address audit-related inquiries and provide valuable insights.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends to ensure the application of current best practices.
  • Work closely with audit team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Provide exceptional client service by addressing client concerns, responding promptly to inquiries, and maintaining positive client relationships.
