About Us: Our Mission:
California Premier Sports: At California Premier Sports, our mission is to foster the growth and development of youth sports. We are committed to nurturing the next generation of sports coaches, managers, and entrepreneurs by providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. California Premier Sports is a 501c3 California Public Charity for the promotion of youth athletics.
Skyhawks Sports Contra Costa: It is hard for kids to live an active and healthy lifestyle without a love for sports/athletics. Too many kids drop out, or get left behind, because there is a problem with the status quo of youth sports instruction. Kids are unfairly ranked and categorized by skill and placed into a program that caters to that skill level. Coaches with unrealistic recollections of their own childhood play the role of evaluator and critic rather than educator and mentor. Coaches fall back on excuses of why the child is not performing rather than looking inward at their own performance.
Skyhawks Contra Costa challenges the status quo of youth sports instruction. We are the champion for the common child, proving that kids can increase their rank through age-appropriate curriculum and proper coaching. When you start with Confidence and Passion, the Skills will follow.
Our mission is to ensure that every child who passes through our program leaves with the confidence, passion, and skills to live an active and healthy style.
Meet your Instructor:
Your T.E.A.M. Internship Instructor is Billy Goldstein (aka Coach Billy Bob). Billy graduated from San Diego State University in 2008 with a degree in Hospitality and Recreation Management. In 2012 he started his first youth sports franchise with Skyhawks Sports Academy (Skyhawks Contra Costa), which he still owns and operates today. He has since added additional Skyhawks & SuperTots Franchises to his youth sports business portfolio. His Skyhawks Contra Costa franchise has operated as the largest youth sports franchise in the country for the last 12-years.
In 2022 Billy started his first non-profit For A Stray Inc, a California Public Charity for the Prevention of Canine Cruelty. For A Stray raises money to rescue huskies at risk of euthanasia from overcrowded Northern California shelters. One of For A Stray’s fundraising branches, Play For A Stray, is a partnership between Billy’s sports companies (Skyhawks & SuperTots Sports) and the For A Stray. Together they offer youth sports camps, clinics, and special events as fundraisers for their Dog Rescue Mission.
In 2023 Billy started his second non-profit, California Premier Sports, a California Public Charity for the Promotion of Youth Athletics. California Premier Sports was created to train and develop the next generation of passionate youth sports coaches, managers and entrepreneurs. The T.E.A.M. Internship program is a partnership between Billy’s sports companies (Skyhawks & SuperTots Sports) and California Premier Sports. This partnership allows interns access to paid on-field coaching/leadership experience at Skyhawks & SuperTots Programs in addition to the California Premier Sports workshop seminars. Although Billy’s work with Skyhawks, SuperTots, California Premier Sports, and Play For A Stray, is mostly managerial these days, he continues his passion for coaching and working with kids as the varsity basketball coach at his local high-school.
